That70sGuy weathering a scale model at the workbench

SeventiesGuy started the way most obsessions do — with a single kit, a bottle of glue and far more enthusiasm than skill. Decades later, the workbench has grown into a full garage of half-finished projects, resin castings, airbrushes and enough paint bottles to open a small shop. What has never changed is the joy of turning a flat box of grey plastic into something that looks like it has a history.

The focus here is unapologetically niche: 1:24 scale model cars, custom hot rods, retro tech, garage mancaves and the kind of rusted, overgrown post-apocalyptic dioramas that reward patience and a bit of storytelling. Every build is an excuse to solve a small engineering problem — how a tire should sit, what a resistor value needs to be for a working headlight, how many bricks fit in a scale wall.

Those problems are exactly why this site exists. The nine calculators in the Utility Hub were built to answer questions that came up again and again at the bench. Rather than reaching for a phone calculator and a scrap of paper every time, the maths now lives in one place, free for anyone who builds. If a tool here saves you five minutes and one ruined part, it has done its job.

The @that70sguy YouTube channel is where the theory meets the airbrush. Full build videos, weathering breakdowns and honest "here is what went wrong" moments accompany the guides on this site. The goal is simple: help fellow modelers build with more confidence and have more fun doing it.
